Presenter: Ian Foss, Policy Liaison and Implementation, U.S. Department of Education, Office of Federal Student Aid
Purpose: To review the relevant changes to the Higher Education Opportunity Act, outlining what is required to qualify as a Comprehensive Transition Program (CTP) and be able to provide federal financial aid to students with ID. The session will include tips on applying to become a CTP. Time will be reserved at the end of the presentation to respond to questions.

Presenters: Directors of two emerging programs for students with ID: Dr. Cindi May of College of Charleston and Dr. Missy Jones from Northern Kentucky University
Purpose: To present information on mentoring programs, including information on mentors and their different roles, recruiting and training mentors, matching mentors and students, supporting mentors, the benefits of mentorship and assessment of mentor programs. Web and print resources on mentoring will also be shared.
Finding Jobs for Students with Intellectual Disability: Where do you start?

Presenter: Amy Dwyre, an experienced employment and job development specialist at TransCen, Inc. in Baltimore, MD
Purpose: To give participants a process they can use to create opportunities for students by getting their foot in the door of the right businesses to make their job not only easier, but actually fun. Participants will learn 1) strategies for turning a variety of assessment and discovery options into skills for selling students to the perfect employer, 2) how to approach employers and get more than just your foot in the door, and 3) the skills to customize positions. This webinar will provide participants the information they need to comfortably negotiate with an employer.
